Introducing the E-Type. As long as I've known Mr F, this car has been in bits in the garage. He has put in an amazing effort and got her back on the road. She was originally delivered to a buyer in Durham, England and registered YUP1. She made her way to Australia in the 1970s and was purchased by Mr F in 1986. He has restored her twice over the past 37 years. This latest restoration has included overhauling the front suspension, upgrading the brakes, overhauling the head, respraying the paintwork (himself) and a myriad of time consuming little things that make a car road-ready. In the near future, Mr F has promised to fit some air-conditioning! He has purchased the kit and that would be REALLY nice for the Australia summer by the end of the year :)

Interesting, I live in Durham, where the County registration was tradionally "UP" and then as the numbers got used up added a letter "YUP" GUP" etc. My father in laws old car used to wear the registraion 1GUP but the previous owner retained it! I was told years ago that the County Councils Chief Officer in the 60s reserved himself "1UP" which must surely have been a misuse of power if not an outright offence! Imagine how much that is worth now. I still see "1UP" driving around Durham City occasionally, last time on a little old Peugeot as I recall!
